Usher is joined by will.i.am for his 'OMG' performance, Diddy and his group presents light show, and Ruben Studdard returns with his song 'Don't Make 'Em Like U No More'.
"American Idol" has got to another elimination night, and the result show on Wednesday, March 31 was jammed with pure entertainment. After Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato entertained the audience last week, it was Usher, Diddy Dirty Money and Ruben Studdard's turn took the stage to deliver their performances.
Usher, who mentored the top 10 contestants for Tuesday night's performance, got on stage to sing "OMG" after Justin Bieber praised him as "a great influence" from the audience. The 31-year-old R&B star sported a black bowler and matching black suit with silver lapels during his performance, and was accompanied by dancers as well as collaborator will.i.am.
Other performers taking the stage were P. Diddy and his Dirty Money mates Dawn Richard and Kalenna. With violins and timpani sounds on the background, the three delivered their "Hello, Good Morning" song on a smoky stage. Halfway through the song, a strobe-light effect was presented following an introduction from Diddy. "America," he shouted out, "right about now I want you to turn your televisions up and your lights down. And rock with us!"
While Usher got his groove on and Diddy entertained with impressive light show, season two champion Ruben mesmerized the audience with his vocal. The singer who got his Velvet Teddy Bear nickname from the show belted out "Don't Make 'Em Like U No More", a song from his fourth album "Love Is".
During the result show, it was unraveled that Didi Benami became the third in a row voted off following Lacey Brown and Paige Miles. After performing her rendition of "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" on Tuesday night, the 23-year-old slipped to the bottom three along with Tim Urban and Katie Stevens.
