'I don't want that to become some sort of schtick,' the 'American Idol' alum explains when talking about what he won't do on his upcoming 'Glam Nation' tour.
Generating enough controversy with his performance at 2009 American Music Awards,
Adam Lambert reveals that he has no plan in delivering the same eyebrows-raising act in future performances. The 28-year-old recently promises that there will be no more make-out sessions with his male band members during his nationwide "Glam Nation" tour.
The "American Idol" alum insisted he won't be seen kissing another man on stage anymore in an interview with E! News at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, stating "That is not the plan." Explaining the reason why, he said, "I don't want that to become some sort of schtick. If I keep doing it, everyone is going to expect it all the time. I don't work like that. I like the element of surprise."
Adam has delivered one controversial performance when singing single "For Your Entertainment" at the 37th Annual American Music Awards on November 22, 2009. At that time, he was seen locking lips with his straight male keyboardist, simulating oral sex with a male backing dancer, as well as flashing his middle finger.
On his "Glam Nation" tour, the openly-gay singer has announced through his Twitter page that he will have
Orianthi and
Allison Iraheta as his opening acts. He wrote, "For those who didn't know, my opening acts are Orianthi and Allison Iraheta!!!" He will kick off the traveling show, which he promises to be "really theatrical and sparkly", in May.
