Setting things straight, representative for the 'Rude Boy' hitmaker explains, 'She had an injured rib and went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious, and it wasn't.'
Apparently, it was rib injury that forced
Rihanna to make a brief stop at a Swiss emergency room on Monday night, April 19. Offering explanation over the short hospital visit, her representative explained to CNN that the Barbadian singer was taken to Hirslanden private clinic in Zurich to get her injury checked by a doctor.
Publicist Amanda Silverman told the news network, "She had an injured rib and went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious, and it wasn't." She further added that the singer is doing fine and the European leg of her "Last Girl on Earth" tour went on as scheduled. "All is OK and the tour is going great," she insisted.
Rihanna made headlines as local reports claimed she was rushed to the hospital after playing a sold-out concert in Zurich, Switzerland on Monday night. Leaving the Hallenstadion venue just after midnight, she was taken to a private clinic in a blacked-out Mercedes and was quickly escorted into the accident and emergency department for a mystery ailment.
Alenka Ambroz, the spokesperson for the Hirslanden hospital, told reporters, "Rihanna arrived at the accident and emergency unit. We're not going to give any details." The "Russian Roulette" singer allegedly left the hospital over two and a half hours after being admitted, and was taken back to the venue.
Despite her rib injury, Rihanna pushed on with her European tour. She was back on stage with a concert in Lyon, France on Tuesday night, April 20, and is expected to perform in Marseille on Wednesday night, April 21. The 22-year-old singer will kick off the North American leg of her "Last Girl on Earth" tour with
Ke$ha as her opening act in July.
