Though hinting that she may have inherited the disease from her late aunt, the 'Bad Romance' hitmaker refuses to speak in details about the result, saying 'I don't want anyone to be worried.'
Lady GaGa has admitted in recent interview that she has been tested for Lupus. The "Telephone" singer, who has sparked concern over her health especially with her near-collapse performance in New Zealand in March, revealed the fact to Times Online, but keeps most of the test result's details by herself.
The 24-year-old singer opened up about the test when pursued about her "recurring illnesses". Having said that she has "heart palpitations and... things", she let out, "I'm very connected to my aunt, Joanne, who died of lupus. It's a very personal thing. I don't want my fans to be worried about me." After admitting that she has been tested for the disease, she once again said, "I don't want anyone to be worried."
Asked about her most recent call to emergency services, GaGa responded, "The other day in Tokyo. I was having trouble breathing." She went on to detail, "I had a little oxygen, then I went on stage. I was OK. But like I say, I don't want anyone to worry." She further assured fans they don't have to worry about her thin body. She said that she doesn't have any eating disorder and her thin figure was all just because she doesn't "get very much time to eat."
She, however, continued to confess that she did take ecstasy. "A little MDMA [Ecstasy] once in a while never killed anybody, but I really don't do drugs," she revealed. "I don't touch cocaine any more. I don't smoke. Well, maybe a single cigarette - with whisky - while I'm working, because it just frees my mind a little bit. But I care about my voice. The thrill of my voice being healthy on stage is really special. I take care of myself... ."
The "Poker Face" hitmaker added that she used prescription medicine because she can't control her thoughts, adding "I'm tortured. But I like that." She also refused to take a break concerning her health, saying "People say I should take a break, but I'm like, 'Why should I take a break? What do you want me to do, go on vacation?' "
