The actress who plays Carrie Bradshaw in the 'Sex and the City' sequel admits that she has to struggle to get some rest because she feels the huge pressure to look as stylish as her character.
Sarah Jessica Parker was so nervous about her red carpet dress for the world premiere of "
Sex and the City 2" she could barely sleep. The actress, who wore a neon yellow Valentino gown to the New York premiere of the movie at Radio City Music Hall on Monday night, May 24, admitted the pressure to look as stylish as her character Carrie Bradshaw was so huge she had been biting her nails and struggled to get some rest.
"This movie took a long time to make. I cared about being presentable to that degree. I never want to embarrass my children or my family," she said. "It's always lovely to get to borrow a beautiful dress. I didn't sleep at all last night. I'm still so nervous. Look at my cuticles!"
Her co-star
Cynthia Nixon, who portrays Miranda Hobbes in the film which sees the four friends travel from New York to the sand dunes of Abu Dhabi on an all-expenses paid trip, revealed she is unlike her fashionable character and prefers comfortable flat shoes to high heels. She said, "I think if fans expect me to be this dressed up in my everyday life, they're going to be very disappointed. I own a lot of flats!"
Following the premiere of the movie sequel, the main stars, Sarah Jessica, Cynthia,
Kim Cattrall and
Kristin Davis, headed to a Middle Eastern-themed party where they feasted on hummus and chicken and beef kabobs.
Former "Melrose Place" star Colin Egglesfield, who was at the party, admitted he was hoping to meet Kim because he thought she was the perfect woman. He joked, "She embodies everything I love about a woman. She's sexy and she's got that sassiness that I love in a woman."
