Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek finishes second to the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, while ESPN reporter Erin Andrews has to settle for third.
"Dancing with the Stars" has finally crowned its newest champion. After ten weeks of grueling competition, it was unraveled in a two-hour finale on Tuesday night, May 25 that
The Pussycat Dolls'
Nicole Scherzinger was the one who steals away the coveted mirror ball trophy for season ten of the ABC's show.
The 31-year-old Nicole edged out her competition, Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek, in the final round. She and her professional partner Derek Hough earned perfect scores from the judges with their jive, while runner-up Evan and his partner Anna Trebunskaya scored only 28 of 30 points with their quickstep. After the two-days finale, Nicole scored 115 points in total from the judges.
Nicole's win may not come as a surprise for many since she has repeatedly been praised by the judges as the best celebrity dancer in the show's history. Her victory also denied Evan's chance on being the fourth Olympic champion to win the title following speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno, figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and gymnast
Shawn Johnson.
Finishing third was ESPN reporter Erin Andrews. Upon exiting the competition, the dancing partner of
Maksim Chmerkovskiy said, "This experience has meant everything to me. I got into this after a bunch of crummy circumstances and I wanted to get my smile back. And now I've put my life back together again."
The finale night also saw the return of the fallen contestants.
Pamela Anderson, Niecy Nash, Jake Pavelka, Buzz Aldrin and
Kate Gosselin were some of those who were back on the floor. Buzz, in particular, re-appeared on the show wearing gray astronaut suit, while "The Bachelor" star Jake took the dance floor with his fiancee Vienna Girardi.
