After a rep for Celine verifies news that the 42-year-old singer is indeed pregnant, husband and manager Rene Angelil comes out with a statement, saying 'We're ecstatic.'
is expecting twins. Her representative Kim Jakwerth has recently confirmed that the 42-year-old singer is indeed pregnant after undergoing her sixth in-vitro fertilization attempt and turning to acupuncture to improve her chances of a pregnancy.
Reinforcing Jakwerth's statement, Celine's husband and manager Rene Angelil opened up to People Magazine, "We're ecstatic." He went on to say, "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing!"
Celine Dion and Rene Angelil were married on December 17, 1994. They welcomed a son Rene-Charles Angelil on January 25, 2001 after undergoing fertility treatments. Celine is now 14 weeks along with her twins and will find out their gender in June.
The "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker has made no secret about her dream to expand her family. Last February, she told Access Hollywood that she has skipped a chance to perform at the 2010 Winter Olympic in Vancouver, Canada, because she wanted to focus on getting pregnant. "I'm going through some in vitro treatments, so that was my choice," she said.
