Having said that he and his girlfriend are too old to conceive a child, the 'Sex and the City 2' hunk admits he is open to adopting kids.
admits he and Bo Derek are "beyond" having children naturally but could adopt. The 49-year-old actor, who reprises his role as Aidan Shaw in "Sex and the City 2
", says he and his 53-year-old partner are now too old to conceive a child but the couple would consider opening their home to a disadvantaged child.
"I think we're beyond having kids," he said. "Now, adopting kids, that's a whole other thing. That's not out of my realm one day to do. Even though I'm 49, I still feel like I'm 25, like I just arrived in Hollywood. I mean, I'm always hustling to try to get my next job... I'm just not grounded. I'm always off to somewhere for some length of time."
John, who has been dating "10" star Bo since 2002, says if the couple did ever decide to adopt he would want them to be married because he thinks it's the best environment to raise children. He told Access Hollywood, "I'm not against marriage, but I think it's the right thing to do if you're gonna have a family."
"If you're gonna have kids, you should ultimately be married. Nothing against people who aren't, but I think it's a good thing to do to give that kid a foundation that feels stable, not just mommy and daddy are boyfriend and girlfriend, but we're beyond that, I think."
