Commenting on the video of Jon limping on stage, his spokesperson details that the rocker tore his calf muscle while performing his band's 'Living On a Prayer', but vowed to continue the performance.
Despite all of the pain he must be suffering after tearing muscle, Jon Bon Jovi continued to rock on stage. Although he was obviously limping through his band's final set during a gig in New Jersey on Friday night, July 9, the Bon Jovi frontman pushed through to close the performance with hit "Livin' On a Prayer".
After YouTube was flooded with footage posted by concertgoers that showed Jon struggling through the set, representative for the 48-year-old rocker detailed what problem he was experiencing. "Near the end of Bon Jovi's two-and-a-half hour show at New Meadowlands Stadium on Friday night, Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle," the rep said in a statement.
Jon himself apparently didn't take the muscle-tear as serious problem. During the set, he was heard jokingly said, "I'm old, what can I tell you." His rep, in the meantime, noted, "Jon made light of the injury and went on to close the show with their anthemic hit, 'Living On a Prayer'. The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity home-town crowd, and assisting Jon off the stage."
Despite the injury, Jon and his band mates are expected to continue on with their scheduled performances. "The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer," so the rep assured. Having a day off on Saturday, July 10, Bon Jovi planned to perform Sunday night, July 11, in Saratoga Springs, New York.
