Leighton Meester: Blair Still Not Over Chuck on New Season of 'Gossip Girl'

Declaring she is a fan of the TV couple, the actress who stars as Blair Waldorf in The CW series teases what to expect from the two characters on season four.

Talking about the upcoming season of "Gossip Girl", Leighton Meester has shared what she has in mind over the relationship between Blair and Chuck. Asked by MTV News whether the TV couple really are over, the actress who stars as Blair in the series teased, "I think Blair has done some healing, but not entirely. She definitely she has a flame burning for Chuck. Who wouldn't?"

Met on the set of "Monte Carlo", the 24-year-old also weighed in on whether right now is the right time for Chuck to date a new girl. "I am a fan, which sounds ridiculous, of Chuck and Blair," she responded. "I love their relationship, and I really love working with Ed, which is what it probably boils down to. But yeah, I think maybe there needed to be some sort of break in their relationship and some sort of drama."

Although it could be a nice thing for her character and Ed Westwick's to be apart from one another, the "Remember the Daze" actress pointed out the downside for her. "Maybe it was going too well, and then there was the downward spiral with his uncle, which was fun to play out but I hate fighting," so she said.

During the interview, Leighton also talked about the joining of former "Melrose Place" star Katie Cassidy. "I hope we cross paths, but it would be weird to have a completely different dynamic [on-screen]," she said when talking about her "Monte Carlo" co-star. "I mean, it would be really fun."

"I think she's coming on the show, maybe, to cause a little bit of trouble," the ex-girlfriend of Sebastian Stan added. "She might not say it, but I will. I think she's very much capable of that, at least in the show. I think [Nate's] a total playboy and needs to be single and I think [Katie's character] is a bad girl, so maybe they are good for each other, actually."
