While admitting he did make the visit, the leading actor of 'Charlie St. Cloud' tells Jimmy Kimmel he doesn't remember giving away 2,000 dollars for lap dancers.
Zac Efron has finally spoken up about recent rumor of him visiting a strip club. When making an appearance at "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show on Wednesday, July 28, the leading actor of "Charlie St. Cloud" admitted he indeed went to Flashdancers Gentlemen's Club in New York City, but stressed he got a permission from girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.
Addressing the subject, the 22-year-old heartthrob confessed to host Jimmy Kimmel it wasn't easy calling Vanessa to tell her about the visit. "The hardest thing was calling your girlfriend before. That's the awkward part," he explained. "How do you even start that conversation without feeling like a total a*****e?" Asked about Vanessa's reaction, he said, "She was fine with it, yeah."
The "High School Musical" hunk said that the visit didn't lift up to his expectation. Stressing he's not "really a type of guy who does this kind of thing often," he joked, "I had this image of what it'd be like. I've heard a lot about these places, mostly from rap music - they're supposed to be pretty reputable! So I envisioned myself in a nice couch with 'stunna shades' with T-Pain and Usher making it rain money. And it just wasn't like that."
While confirming he went with his "High School Musical" co-star Corbin Bleu, Zac played it coy when addressing rumor he spent splashed out $2,000 on lap dancers. During the chat, the Richard Samuels of "Me and Orson Welles" eluded the question with a joke before saying, "I don't remember. I don't think I opened my wallet."
The New York Post newspaper has brought up the news that Zac Efron and two male friends visited Flashdancers Gentlemen's Club on Broadway on Sunday night, July 25 and stayed until 3 A.M. An eyewitness claimed the actor has requested dances from three pretty brunettes during the visit. "There were three girls who Zac and his friends particularly liked and they asked to do personal dances at their table," so the observer said at the time.
