911 Call Pops Out, Fantasia Barrino Out of Hospital

Manager Brian Dickens confirms that the former 'American Idol' champ is on the mend after her suicide attempt, adding that she is now 'more committed than ever to her daughter and her work'.

Fantasia Barrino has been released from a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital where she has been treated for drug overdose. Brian Dickens, the manager of the former "American Idol" champ confirmed to the press that the singer was out of the hospital on late Wednesday, August 11, just two days after attempting suicide.

In a statement he released in regards of the hospital release, Brian explained that the Celie of Broadway play "The Color Purple" is "more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration." The manager also noted, "She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans."

Hours earlier, a 911 call concerning Fantasia has come out. The recording heard a male voice telling operator on Monday night, August 9, "An individual took a bottle of Aspirin and she is slowly losing consciousness." Asked if the "I Believe" hitmaker is alone, the man said yes before adding she doesn't have a weapon and is not violent.

To the dispatcher, the caller further said, "She's in the shower. Her family tried to put her in the shower to try to keep her awake until the paramedics get there." The 911 operator was quick to instruct the man to "take her out of the shower and turn the water off." The 911 audio recording can be listened to via TMZ.

Fantasia Barrino was rushed to a North Carolina hospital for an overdose of "aspirin and a sleep aid" on Monday night, August 9. On Tuesday, August 10, manager Brian Dickens released a statement explaining that the singer is in a stable condition and that "her injuries are not life threatening", adding "She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time."

News of her attempting suicide came up after she was named in a court filing alleging that she was having an affair with a married man named Antwaun Cook. Prior to the incident, her manager has released a statement that the singer is "certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of Cook's marriage."
