might land the female lead role in the upcoming "Untitled Spider-Man Reboot". According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the "
Scream 4" actress, as well as Lily Collins, Imogen Poots, Teresa Palmer and Ophelia Lovibond are vying for a particular role, which is believed to be Gwen Stacy who was played by
Bryce Dallas Howard in "
Spider-Man 3".
THR further detailed that director Marc Webb and the lead actor of the movie
Andrew Garfield have been meeting with the actresses starting on Thursday, August 19 and will continue toward the weekend. However, the site also stated that it wasn't clear whether they received script pages for the Gwen Stacy role itself or even some other new characters.
While Columbia has not made any comment yet about the news, THR noted that "these are not screentests, which usually involve some sort of dealmaking, but rather readings and meetings." It was also said that there will be another round of searching if these actresses don't work out. Filming eyes a December start, while the movie itself is set to be released across the U.S. on July 3, 2012.
