Marriage Is 'Irretrievably Broken', Tiger Woods and Wife Finalized Divorce

As the separated couple officially announce the end of their marriage, words are coming out that Elin Nordegren hit her then-husband 27 times with a golf club on the night of his infamous car crash.

Nine months after his scandalous infidelities caught media headlines, Tiger Woods has finally finalized his divorce with wife Elin Nordegren. The couple, who got married in Barbados on October 5, 2004, were both present in a ten-minute hearing at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida on Monday, August 23.

According to court documents, Tiger and Elin have signed a Marital Settlement Agreement, which deals with terms of child support, alimony and the division of assets. The papers also mentioned that the twosome have lived separately since the golf athlete accidentally crashed his car in November 2009, adding that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

While the documents do not reveal details about the terms of the settlement, Fox News suggested at the end of June that Elin could get $750 million as a divorce settlement in return for her agreeing to stay silence about Tiger's affairs. Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes Magazine, however, shot down the rumor by pointing out that Tiger is only worth $600 million.

Tiger and Elin themselves have released a joint statement regarding the dissolving of their marriage. "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," part of the statement read. "While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

Meanwhile, words are coming out on what might happened on the night Tiger crashed his car in late 2009. A source told IanUndercover that Elin hit Tiger 27 times with a golf club that night. "Elin Nordegren is one of my closest friends," the source said. "Shortly after the terrible incident she called me and told me all the details. The most startling thing she told me was that she took 27 swings at Tiger with the gold club before he got out of the house."

"She had found a half dozen condoms in his suit jacket," the source continued. "Elin said Tiger had not used condoms in over two years when they had sex. Elin went ballistic when she found the condoms. She had suspected he was cheating on her for months. She told me she wanted to kill Tiger that night, she completely went out of control."
