The 'Mercy' star has reportedly beaten Abbie Cornish and Katie Cassidy for the coveted female lead role in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel-adaptation movie.
Taylor Schilling has been set to play
Zac Efron's love interest in the upcoming "
The Lucky One". Variety reported that the former "Mercy" star has nabbed the female lead role in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel-adaptation movie, beating out
Abbie Cornish and
Katie Cassidy for the coveted part.
To be helmed by Australian director Scott Hicks, this drama flick revolves around the life of Zac's character, Logan Thibault. Surviving three tours in Iraq, the Marine attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met. When he returns to North Carolina, he sets out to meet his good-luck charm.
The film itself will be produced by Denise Di Novi and Kevin McCormick. Denise's pictures Alison Greenspan is executive producing. Douglas McGrath and Will Fetters, in the meantime, will be adapting the novel into the big screen. No release date has been set just yet.
26-year-old Taylor is best known for her role as Nurse Veronica Callahan on the NBC's series "Mercy". She also appeared in the Bard SummerStage production of "Uncle Vanya" opposite Peter Dinklage. She has just completed filming "
Atlas Shrugged", where she plays alongside Nick Cassavetes and Paul Johansson.
