When discussing about her lead single off third studio album 'Speak Now', the 'Fearless' singer spills, 'I was reflecting back on a boy I liked at a certain time.'
Taylor Swift indeed has used her first hand experiences in romance to write songs. After using her infamous break-up with
Joe Jonas as an inspiration for "Forever & Always", a song included in her "" album, the country music crooner opened up that her newest single "Mine" is actually a reflection of her old crush.
"I was reflecting back on a boy I liked at a certain time," the 20-year-old songstress told Rolling Stone about the lead single off "Speak Now", but kept a tight lip on the identity of the boy she mentioned. Having previously said that the track reflects her "tendency to run from love", she additionally mentioned, "The song is about what it would be like if I actually let my guard down."
On her reaction upon learning the single has been leaked, the "You Belong with Me" hitmaker recalled, "[My manager] said, 'I don't want you to panic.' And I said, 'The song leaked, didn't it?' " She went on, "I turned on my phone and there were texts saying, 'Congratulations.' A leak is so out of my comfort zone, but it ended up good in the end. It made me so emotional that I started crying."
While Taylor discussed about her latest single, director Roman White talked about her "Fifteen" music video, which is up for Best Female Video at . "I think I really wanted this video to kind of be an evolution for Taylor," he said. "I mean, obviously it's a high school song, but the last thing I wanted to do was shoot it in a high school."
Roman continued, "So I wanted to try something different, and I actually said to her, 'I don't think we should shoot in a high school.' And I don't think she wanted to either." He further unveiled the only thing that wasn't created on a computer was Taylor. "The rain was all digitally created. All the trees, all the flowers, everything was created by mouse, everything was created by computers," he detailed.
