To appear in an episode that offers the back story to Robin days as a Canadian pop star, the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls has been tapped to portray the character's former BFF Jessica Glitter.

Cobie Smulders' Robin.
It was Craig Thomas, an executive producer on the CBS' show, who spilled the beans. To EW, he said, "It's going to be a satisfying third chapter in the Robin Sparkles trilogy. It's a prequel to both 'Let's Go to the Mall' and 'Sandcastles in the Sand'." Fellow executive producer Carter Bays chimed in, "It's the origin story of Robin Sparkles. You see where she came from."
The former champ of "Dancing with the Stars", who is currently dating Formula 1 race car driver
Lewis Hamilton, will make her appearance on the comedy series in an upcoming episode titled "Glitter". Slated to air during November sweeps, the episode itself will also feature "Growing Pains" actor Alan Thicke.
