Just hours after the 'Miss Me' singer and 'Your Love' rapper announced on their Twitter page they have tied the knot, their representatives throw cold water to the unexpected declaration.
Drake and
Nicki Minaj have caught media attention with their Twitter declaration that they have already tied the knot. Representatives for both the "Best I Ever Had" singer and the "Your Love" rapper, however, were quick to set the record straight, insisting to E! News that the two music newcomers are not married.
The shocking confession was set off by Nicki's tweet to Drake on Friday afternoon, August 27. She wrote, "U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or wha?" Answering the question about an hour later, 23-year-old Drake tweeted, "Baby I am never scared. PROUD is more the word I would use."
Drake, who gained his fame from TV series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" before making his break in music, followed it up with announcement, "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She's finally mine. :)." 25-year-old Nicki re-tweeted the posting and added, "Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot."
It is no secret that Drake has laid eyes on Nicki. In "Miss Me", he has expressed his intention on marrying the
Young Money rapper. "I love Nicki Minaj/ I told her I'd admit it/ I hope one day we get married just to say we f*****g did it/ And girl, I'm f*****g serious/ I'm with it if you with it/ 'Cause your verses turn me on, and your pants are mighty fitted," he spits in his song.
In June, Drake also told DJ Envy his feeling to Nicki is genuine. "I've always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she's always just looked at me as, like, her little brother," he said. But, Nicki at the time insisted they are just creative partners. "Drake does not have a crush on me. Drake knows how to get you guys' attention," she claimed.
