could live up to "Modern Family" promise that she will run naked down Sunset Blvd if the sitcom wins Outstanding Comedy at . After the series was given the top honor on Sunday, August 29, the actress portraying Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the ABC sitcom hinted that she may step up to the plate.
In an interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush post "Modern Family" win, the 38-year-old TV actress declared, "Listen, I'm not afraid of anything. I'm Colombian." Before coming up with the statement, she joked that she has already done the run. "I did the run and I came back," she said. When met with skeptical response, she gushed, "Yes, I mean, I'm fast. I run fast."
In another interview, Sofia revealed that should she back out, her on-screen husband Ed O'Neill will take over to do the naked streak. "The good thing is that Ed O'Neill said that he will back me up in case something happens and I cannot do it," she said. "He's gonna do it too." To the revelation, Ed himself responded, "Yes [I'm ready to step in] and I'm running backwards."
Back in July, the team behind the hit ABC comedy has published an ad in the trade magazines which stated, "If 'Modern Family' wins the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy, Sofia Vergara will run naked down Sunset Blvd." The ad, however, included in a tiny print a disclaimer that said the "cast member may change without notice."
