While calling the push-up challenge made by McMahon's RV a 'facetious suggestion', Taylor's lawyer says the 'Twilight Saga' hunk welcome the opportunity to resolve lawsuit with donation to charity.
Taylor Lautner does not accept the push-up match challenge made by Brent McMahon, the owner of an RV dealership he is suing. Robert Barta, the lawyer for the 'Twilight Saga' hunk, has on Monday afternoon, August 30 issued a statement declining the offer to resolve lawsuit over a customized vehicle in a battle of brawn.
"We have tried to take the high road by not commenting on this matter but we want to set the record straight," Robert said in the statement. "McMahon's RV's response to our client's legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place."
Robert further noted that Brent "has already apologized to the Lautners for his and his company's conduct" through his attorney, but branded the offer for a contest to settle the case a "facetious suggestion". Nonetheless, the lawyer did say that 18-year-old Taylor would gladly settle the suit if Brent makes a donation to the charity he chooses.
"While we will not dignify Mr. McMahon's facetious suggestion of a contest to settle a legal claim with a response, we do welcome the opportunity for him to resolve this matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner's choice," so Robert claimed, "and we will be in touch with his counsel to see if he will make good on this offer."
Earlier in the day, Brent McMahon has held a press conference to challenge Taylor to a push-up contest to resolve a breach of contract lawsuit. The dealership owner and his attorney claimed that if the teen actor won, Brett would give him the $40,000 settlement sought by his lawyers, but if he won, he would donate the money to the Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Taylor Lautner has filed a lawsuit against McMahon's RV on August 23 after the dealership failed to delivering his customized rig in time while he was filming upcoming movie "
Abduction". According to the suit, the "
Valentine's Day" actor claimed he's suffering from "emotional distress" and "annoyance" because of the "breach of contract" and "fraud".
