The Girls Aloud member reportedly will quit being a judge on the U.K.'s 'The X Factor', and is looking to base herself in the U.S. following her divorce from soccer star Ashley Cole.
Cheryl Cole "has her heart set on America" and is planning a fresh start there. The singer and reality TV judge is reportedly looking to base herself in the U.S. following her divorce from soccer star Ashley Cole, which was granted two days ago.
Friends say Cheryl will quit her position as a judge on U.K. TV program "The X Factor" to go to the homeland of her rumored boyfriend, dancer Derek Hough, and that she's secretly been offered a deal to appear on a U.S. version of the show, planned for next year. A source told the News Of The World newspaper, "This is Cheryl Cole phase two."
"She's not changing her name, but she's changing every other aspect of her life. She wouldn't have the time to do both of 'The X Factor' shows, and release new songs, and she's got her heart set on America where Derek lives."
Cheryl flew back to the U.K. from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 5, where she has been comforted by Derek while she recovers from malaria, which she contracted in July after a trip to Africa. Cheryl will stay in the country until December so she can appear on "The X Factor", and will also reportedly sell her marital home and buy a smaller house in London.
The source added, "Cheryl wants a base in London, but the idea is she'll spend less and less time in England."
