Impersonating the 'Can't Be Tamed' singer, 'SNL' newcomer Vanessa Bayer tickles some funny bone as she hosts 'The Miley Cyrus Show' and interviews Paul Brittain's version of Johnny Depp.
Miley Cyrus didn't appear in person on a recent edition of "Saturday Night Live", but it didn't stop the show from poking fun at the Disney songstress. On Saturday, October 2, newcomer Vanessa Bayer impersonated the "Can't Be Tamed" singer in a new spoof talk show segment titled, "The Miley Cyrus Show".
Taking on her first lead in the sketch, Vanessa considerably was spot-on with her Miley parody job as she flashed toothy grin and constantly repeated such words as "pretty cool" and "like". She was joined by guest host Bryan Cranston and fellow newcomer Paul Brittian. Bryan tackled Miley's father Billy Ray Cyrus, while Paul starred as guest Johnny Depp.
In the skit, Vanessa's Miley actually serves as the host of the talk show, but she just brags about how "cool" her life is and gives her dad "over it" attitude. Bringing in Paul's Johnny as her first guest, she didn't give him a chance to talk about his new movie. Instead, Miley uses the talk show to show the clip of her own film.
Aside from parodying Miley, the October 2 edition witnessed the return of Kanye West to "SNL". The "Heartless" rapper took the stage to perform "Power" and "Runaway". Avoided potentially awkward moment, he changed his original "Power" lyrics that dissed the show and its cast for mocking his fall-out with Taylor Swift at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
