Renowned for his clean cut looks, the 'Gossip Girl' hunk admits he enjoyed playing something a little more gritty and looking different for the Joel Schumacher-directed project.

". The "Gossip Girl" star, who is renowned on the TV show for his clean cut looks, confesses he enjoyed trying out a new style when filming the Joel Schumacher-directed project, in which he plays a 17-year-old drug dealer.
"It's always good to switch things up to diversify and take some risks," he said. "It wasn't that risky but it was different. It was good to play something a little more gritty and look different, with the beard and stuff."
The 25-year-old star, who appears in the film alongside musician 50 Cent
and actress Emma Roberts
, also admits he wants to eventually focus more on a movie career over his current TV endeavors. He told Filmstars.de, "I eventually want to... have some more serious roles and have more fun with that."
"But, right now it would be good to be in some films in spring time, maybe. I've been in TV for so long, it's always good to do something different, something fresh. They are very different though, the two. 'Gossip Girl' has given me a life, a platform, to base a career on."
