Along with a snippet of the song, the 'Speak Now' singer explains that the person she wrote this tune about deserves it and it is full of words that she would say to him.
In anticipation to the release of "Speak Now", Taylor Swift has offered a preview of another song from her third studio album. Along with the snippet of "Back to December", the "Mine" hitmaker revealed that it is her first apology song. " 'Back to December' addresses a first for me in that I've never apologized to someone in a song before," she said.
"Whether it's good or bad or an apology, the person I wrote this song about, deserves this," the 20-year-old country star continued to explain. "This is about the person who was incredible to me, just perfect to me in a relationship, and I was really careless with him. The song is full of words that I would say to him."
This preview of "Back to December" came out just days after Taylor released a full version of "Speak Now", the title track from her upcoming effort which is inspired by her friend's experience with a childhood sweetheart. It will be followed with a short listen to "Mean" which will be shared on October 18 and "Story of Us" on October 22.
