Chris Evans in his role as Captain America has been offered. Several photos of the actor in character for "
Captain America: The First Avenger" are featured on the cover as well as inside , which will hit newsstands on Friday, October 29, and one in particular presents a look at his buffed up body as he's gone shirtless and sweaty.
A number of other pictures capture the 29-year-old actor as Steve Rogers in a couple different Captain America suits. Besides the Nick Gant of "
Push", there are also shots of Hayley Atwell as the Captain America's love interest Peggy Carter and of Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt a.k.a. Red Skull.
In the article that comes accompanying the photo, Chris opened up about why he declined to take the role up to three times. He said when met on the set, "At the time, I remember telling a buddy of mine, 'If the movie bombs, I'm f***ed. If the movie hits, I'm f***ed!" He added, "I was just scared. I realized my whole decision making process was fear based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear."
