Though season 11 of 'Dancing with the Stars' was filled with many surprises and shocking eliminations, the finale conjures up somewhat a predictable result.
Bristol Palin has become the center of many surprises on season 11 of "Dancing with the Stars", but it apparently wasn't enough for her to take home the coveted mirrorball trophy. On Tuesday night, November 23, the daughter of Sarah Palin has to admit defeat from top contender
Jennifer Grey.
The season finale was kicked off with a re-appearance of most of the season's contestants on the dance floor, before all three finalists, Bristol, Jennifer and Kyle Massey, performed their final dances. Bristol and Kyle chose Tango for their first dance and earned a score of 25 and 26 respectively from the judges. Meanwhile, Jennifer won another perfect score with her Waltz.
For their second dance, all three were required to perform Cha Cha Cha to
Pink's "Raise Your Glass". Kyle, who got the first turn, scored 28 out of 30. Jennifer, who hit the dance floor afterward, nabbed 28 out of 30, and Bristol, who came last, got 27 out of 30. All in all, Jennifer got the lead with her total of 118 out of 120, while Bristol ended up last once again with 104 out of 120.
In the end, it was announced that Bristol finished third this season. Despite the lost, the mother of one got a a standing ovation from the crowd. Keeping positive, she said, "I have so many good memories from this competition. It's definitely been such a life-changing experience. I've definitely had the time of my life."
Season favorite Jennifer was crowned the newest winner of "DWTS", giving her pro dancing partner Derek Hough his third win on the show. While fighting back tears following the announcement, the 50-year-old managed to nod in agreement when co-host Tom Bergeron took note she didn't think she'd be able to perform at the finale due to few injuries.
