has got engaged. The "Who'd Have Known" singer is overjoyed after saying yes to her boyfriend Sam Cooper after he proposed to her on a beach in Bali on Christmas Day, December 25. The 32-year-old building firm boss got down on one knee at sunset on the balcony of their 800-pounds-sterling-a-night suite at the Amankila cliff-side resort, which overlooks the Indian Ocean.
Following the proposal the couple celebrated in the hotel bar, drinking champagne and cocktails with other guests. One onlooker told the Daily Mail newspaper, "Lily was telling everyone that she and Sam had just got engaged - they could not keep the smiles off their faces. It couldn't have been more romantic. The resort is just so peaceful and picturesque."
The engagement means 2010 ends on a happier note for the couple, who lost their baby in November when Lily was six months pregnant. The 25-year-old pop star has been dating Sam since July 2009 and has previously spoken of how happy she is with him.
She said, "Sam treats me differently. He's told me he'll look after me forever. That's what I've always wanted - someone to look after me. We've never had one argument and there's nothing about him that annoys me."
