Fans of comic book adaptations got the ultimate a treat on Sunday, February 6. During the airing of Super Bowl XLV, Marvel Studios released the first footage from its highly-anticipated film "Captain America: The First Avenger", and offered another sneak peek at another of its action movies, "Thor".
The promo video for "Captain America" starts with Chris Evans as Steve Rogers stepping into a machine that transforms him to be a superhuman. It continues to share glimpses of him getting into the action and fighting the baddies as well as a snippet of Hugo Weaving in the full Red Skull mask. It ends with a scene where Hayley Atwell shoots at the prototype of Captain America's shield.
The "Thor" spot, in the meantime, takes the focus on revealing more of the epic action to be expected. Still, it also brought forth a number of other footage. It unleashes brief shots of Asgard and Odin's court in addition to sharing snippet of Chris Hemsworth's Thor flirting with Natalie Portman's Jane Foster.
Set for U.S. release on July 22, "Captain America: The First Avenger" revolves around the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Sebastian Stan and Samuel L. Jackson are in supporting roles.
"Thor", on the other hand, follows a powerful but arrogant warrior who is cast down to Earth due to his reckless actions. He later learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of Asgard tries to invade Earth. Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston are among the cast. This superhero movie is set for U.S. release on May 6.
