Also in the February 28 episode, Russell Thorpe risks alienating his daughter, Raina, as he becomes more resolved in destroying Chuck's family legacy.
Seeing how the "While You Weren't Sleeping" episode ended, next week could be the one "Gossip Girl" episode Dair fans everywhere has been waiting for. A promo for the episode titled "Empire of the Son" revolves around the pair, teasing in the beginning that Blair is being confronted for having an affair with Lonely Boy.
Leighton Meester, the actress playing Blair, has previously weighed in on the relationship between her character and Penn Badgley's. She told MTV News, "I like that friendship. I can't tell you [what's going to happen]. I don't know, I like working with Penn [Badgley], and so that's been very fun. And I think they're good for each other in a lot of ways, in a way that Chuck and Blair aren't."
"Gossip Girl" will return with a new episode next Monday, February 28 before going into a six-week hiatus. Ben's mother come to town, forcing issues to the surface between Ben and Serena. Russell Thorpe is determined to destroy Chuck's family legacy, but he risks alienating his daughter, Raina, in the process. Meanwhile, William van der Woodsen makes his return to the Upper East Side.
On William's return, Connor Paolo who plays Eric shared to Zap2It, "Things may be on the upswing, a bit, but then we have Daddy Van Der Woodsen coming back. That throws a wrench into things, because that's a really tough thing for Rufus, which makes things very difficult in terms of the childrens' loyalties."
"Serena has always been more attached to William, whereas Eric is much more attached to Rufus, so that creates a bit of a rift there. This season with the family you really see Eric building much tighter relationships with the Humphrey end of his family. In the last couple of episodes, he's confided in Rufus a bit, and we're going to see his relationship with Dan get a lot stronger in the next couple of episodes as well."
