The 'Harry Potter' series leading man and the 'Water for Elephants' actor will go face-to-face to claim the Favorite Movie Actor award in the annual prize-giving event.
The nominations for the 2012 People's Choice Awards have been announced on Tuesday, November 8. In movie field,
Daniel Radcliffe will have to compete against
Robert Pattinson to win the award for Favorite Movie Actor. The two famous English heartthrobs will also go face-to-face against their seniors,
Johnny Depp,
Hugh Jackman as well as
Ryan Reynolds.
Meanwhile, Daniel's blockbuster movie, "
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II", bags the most nominations by landing in not less than four categories, including the coveted Favorite Movie. He and his "Harry Potter" co-stars,
Emma Watson,
Rupert Grint and
Tom Felton, also vie for the Favorite Movie Star Under 25 kudo.
In TV field,
Ian Somerhalder is nominated for Favorite TV Drama Actor, competing against
Patrick Dempsey,
Nathan Fillion,
David Boreanaz and
Hugh Laurie. Ian's female co-star on "The Vampire Diaries",
Nina Dobrev, is also up for Favorite TV Drama Actress. She will compete with
Blake Lively,
Eva Longoria,
Ellen Pompeo and
Emily Deschanel.
Popular FOX's musical series "Glee", in the meantime, dominates the TV nominations with seven noms. Its stars
Cory Monteith and
Chris Colfer are both nominated for Favorite TV Comedy Actor. As for
Lea Michele and
Jane Lynch, the two are competing for Favorite TV Comedy Actress.
In music field, female artists are dominating the categories.
Lady GaGa,
Katy Perry and
Beyonce Knowles become the most-nominated artists with five noms each. Trailing behind them is British pop sensation
Adele, who grabs four noms. Meanwhile, country beauty
Taylor Swift bags three nominations.
Winners of the 2012 People's Choice Awards are determined by the number of votes which is submitted by public on the from November 8 until December 6. The announcement of the winners will be done during a ceremony that will be held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 11, 2012 and broadcast live on the CBS at 9:00 P.M. ET.
