Rooney Mara Stuns in White at 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' Premiere

The Lisbeth Salander depicter dazzles the crowd at the London premiere of the Daniel Craig-starring movie by wearing an elegant Givenchy Couture gown

Rooney Mara stole attention when walking down the red carpet of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)" U.K. premiere. The actress looked elegant showing off her slender figure in a white backless Givenchy Couture gown with lace and sheer details. She applied minimal make-up, got her dark hair in a small bun, and completed her look with short bangs.

Rooney was joined by her co-star Daniel Craig during the Monday evening, December 12 event at Odeon Leicester Square in London. While the Lisbeth Salander depicter opted for a white attire, the English actor, who tackles the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist, was seen sporting dark ensemble and putting an overcoat on top of his suit to keep himself warm.

Joely Richardson and Stellan Skarsgard were two of the other cast members who also came to the special screening. Joely, who portrayes Anita Vanger, looked stunning in a black-and-white knee-length dress and black pumps, while the Martin Vanger depicter donned a dark suit paired with a red tie. He was joined by his wife Megan who wore a mini frock and black heels.

Celebrity guests at the event included Sam Taylor-Wood, Aaron Johnson, Sarah Robinson, Francesca Hull, and Gabriella Ellis. Additionally, "When We Collide" singer Matt Cardle, who won the seventh season of "The X Factor" U.K. version, was seen among the attendees.

Based on the Swedish novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" sees a journalist and a young female hacker trying to resolve the long-unsolved disappearance of an heiress. Directed by David Fincher and written by Steven Zaillian, the movie is set to open in the U.S. on December 26.
