Lady GaGa Vying for Outstanding Music Artist at 2012 GLAAD Media Awards

The Monster ringleader is competing for the title against the likes of Beverly McClellan, Girl in a Coma, Hunx and His Punx and MEN.

Lady GaGa is one of the nominees for 2012 Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards. The Mother Monster is up for Outstanding Music Artist. To win the title, she has to defeat Beverly McClellan, Girl in a Coma, as well as Hunx and His Punx and MEN.

In addition, "Glee" receives a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series alongside "The Big C", "Exes and Ohs", "Happy Endings", and "Modern Family". Another show, "Pretty Little Liars" is vying for Outstanding Drama Series, facing "Degrassi: The Next Generation", "Grey's Anatomy", "Shameless" and "Torchwood".

In the motion picture category, meanwhile, critically-acclaimed movie "J. Edgar" is nominated for Outstanding Film - Wide Release. The Clint Eastwood-directed drama flick is competing against two other strong rivals, "Albert Nobbs" and "Beginners".

Nominations for the 23rd annual GLAAD Media Awards was announced on Thursday, January 19. The winners, meanwhile, will not be unveiled until spring this year. They will be honored in three separate ceremonies, at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square in N.Y. on March 24, at the Westin Bonaventure in L.A. on April 21, and at Marriott Marquis in S.F. on June 2.

Outstanding Daily Drama:
