The 'Look at Me Now' hitmaker will hit the stage of the annual award-giving event along with other performers such as David Guetta and Lil Wayne.
Chris Brown is to perform at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 12. The "Yeah 3x" singer, who will release his fifth studio album "Fortune" in March, is set to hit the stage of the star-studded event for the first time after three years of absence due to his incident with ex-girlfriend
Rihanna.
Breezy is reported to perform early with a medley of three of his songs. According to a source reporting to E! News, his comeback to the Grammys is "big for him." The source additionally says, "He's rehearsing now and he knows how important this is for him."
Commenting on Breezy's appointment as a performer, Grammy Exec Ken Ehrlich says, "We're glad to have him back." He explains, "I think people deserve a second chance, you know. If you'll note, he has not been on the Grammys for the past few years and it may have taken us a while to kind of get over the fact that we were the victim of what happened."
"What he's done and what he's done to reclaim his career and seemingly the kind of person that he has become makes him," the executive producer additionally states. "I don't even want to use the word eligible-but you know, it's time".
In the 2012 Grammy Awards, Breezy will be joined by
Deadmau5,
Foo Fighters,
David Guetta and
Lil Wayne to do a first-time tribute to dance/electronica music. Other artists that will make merry the event are the likes of Rihanna,
Coldplay,
Katy Perry,
Nicki Minaj,
Taylor Swift,
Bruno Mars,
Paul McCartney and The Band Perry. The award-giving ceremony will be hosted by
LL Cool J and broadcast live on CBS from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
