Beside the 'Someone Like You' hitmaker, Taylor Swift also shines at the 54th Grammys with two kudos for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.
The winners of the 54th Annual Grammy Awards have been announced on Sunday, February 12.
Adele, in particular, dominated at the prize-giving event by nabbing all of her six nominations. She became the first female artist who got the most wins in one night, beating out Beyonce's five kudos victory record at 2010 Grammy Awards.
Adele took home Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for her second studio album "21". The soul/jazz singer additionally won Record of the Year, Best Short Form Music Video, and Song of the Year for "Rolling in the Deep". She also grabbed Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single "Someone Like You".
When accepting the Record of the Year award, Adele said, "Thank you so much. This is ridiculous." She added before smiling and giving her thumbs-up, "I want to say thank you to every radio programmer and broadcaster that has been playing 'Rolling in the Deep' ... because I know it's not really a pop record."
Another musician scoring multiple awards was
Taylor Swift. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter successfully nabbed Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for "Mean", which she co-produced with Nathan Chapman.
Beside Swift,
Foo Fighters brought home five awards. The alternative rock band grabbed Best Rock Performance, Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album, and Best Long Form Music Video.
In addition,
Chris Brown won a gong for Best R&B Album. The "Look at Me Now" hitmaker, who made a comeback four years after being absent from the Grammys following her altercation with
Rihanna, beat out the likes of El DeBarge,
R. Kelly,
Ledisi, and
Kelly Price.
