Celebrities in film industry have arrived at the red carpet of 84th Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 26.
Sarah Hyland and
Shailene Woodley were among those coming early and wowing the crowd outside Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center.
21 year-old Hyland stole the attention with a silky purple Alberta Feretti gown which featured draped pleats and feminine shoulder detailing. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Woodley grabbed the spotlight as she hit the red carpet in a long-sleeve white gown by Valentino Couture.
Rooney Mara looked gorgeous in her white Givency couture dress, showing off her cleavage and back. The New Yorker actress was also seen wearing a Fred Leighton ring. At the star-studded event, she's nominated for Actress in a Leading Role thanks to her "
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)" role.
In addition to Rooney, her older sister
Kate Mara also came to the event in style. The "American Horror Story" star was snapped rocking a Jack Guisso Couture dress, wearing her hair in an up-do while completing her look with Brian Atwood heels and jewels by Lorraine Schwartz.
Emma Stone,
Michelle Williams and Esperanza Spalding also shone on the red carpet. The "
Crazy, Stupid, Love." actress donned a red bow necked Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress, the leading lady of "
My Week with Marilyn" wore a reddish peplum frock by Louis Vuitton, and the Grammy-winning singer rocked a strapless floor-length gown.
Other movie stars who turned heads upon their arrival at the red carpet were
Jonah Hill and
Natalie Portman. The former, who's up for an award in Actor in a Supporting Role category, looked sharp in his dark suit. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old star showed off an elegant look in a Dior Haute Couture gown as she stood next to fiancee Benjamin Millepied.
Hosted by "When Harry Met Sally" actor Billy Crystal, the 2012 Academy Awards would honor the best films of 2011. "
Hugo" nabbed the most nominations with eleven, followed by "
The Artist" with ten. Celebrities who would serve as the presenters at the special night included Emma Stone,
Angelina Jolie, and
Tom Cruise, while Canadian dance troupe Cirque du Soleil were to perform.
