The 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker thinks that her stardom is like 'a wild animal of sorts', as saying that fame can love her but can also attack her at the same time.
While she's currently reaching the top of her career,
Katy Perry admitted that being a superstar is not always all rainbows and sunshine. The "Firework" hitmaker even claimed that she is already tired of being a famous person.
In a cover story interview for the latest issue of Teen Vogue, Katy opened up, "I'm tired of being famous already! But I'm not tired of creating." She went on stating, "Fame is, I think, just disgusting by-product of what I do."
Describing her stardom, Katy said, "It's quite a delicate creature - it's a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you." She added, "I still want to be as approachable and relatable as possible. When I meet fans and they're crying, I'll say, 'Calm down, there's nothing to cry about. I'm not going to bite you or attack you or grant you three wishes. Let's just hang out and have a good time'."
On her big success, the estranged wife of
Russell Brand told the mag, "I'm not like, 'Ugh, number one again.' It's funny, though, my label gets so caught up in the statistics, just because they're excited. But for me, I don't need to grind it into anyone's head that I'm popular." She said, "If you like my music, great, and if you don't, whatever. I'm going to keep making it either way."
Aside from talking about her fame, Katy discussed her acting career. The "E.T." songstress revealed that she was close to land a part in award-winning "
The Help", but must let it go due to her tight schedule.
"I would love to [make a movie]. There was a time when I was going to be involved in 'The Help', just a small part, I wasn't going to be
Emma Stone or anything, but I couldn't because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record," said Katy.
The pop sensation confessed that she was disappointed by that as saying, "And I was upset about that: I knew it was going to be an important film. Not that I need to do drama first, but I do want to do something that makes a strong impression." She added, "You don't really get off the hook being a musician first... I feel like the stakes are really high."
Though she failed to take part in "The Help", Katy will have her own concert movie, "
Katy Perry: Part of Me", being released in the U.S. on July 5. The 3D film will give a look at her life on and off the stage throughout the "Teenage Dream" world tour.
