The Bella Swan on the 'Twilight Saga' movie series shares her eagerness to play Payton Loftis or Cathy Ames because they are the complete opposite of her previous roles.
reveals her dream to play a dark character in order to break away from her character as naive girl Bella Swan in "
Twilight Saga" movie series. She says that she wants to play suicidal Peyton Loftis from novel "Lie Down in Darkness" or psychopathic Cathy Ames from another book "East of Eden".
"I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life," Stewart says in an interview with ELLE for its June issue. "I want to play her so bad." Commenting on Peyton's dysfunctional relationship with her father, the actress utters, "She is in love with him. I mean, I think she's in love with him. it's not his fault. They're the most f***ed-up family."
When asked about who will fit to play Peyton's father, the "
On The Road" beauty says, "Two people vying for the part of the father are
Daniel Day-Lewis and
Colin Firth." She, however, prefers the "
Nine" actor to the "
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" star because she thinks the former is a perfect choice for the role.
Talking about her other dream role Cathy, Stewart describes her as "a psychopathic, evil c**t!" In John Steinbeck's book, Cathy indeed is an antagonist who kills her parents as well as brother, and leaves her children behind to operate a brothel. "I haven't done that yet," she explains why she's interested to portray such an evil character.
